The 200 Nadi procured and transported from Pibi to Swabi through the trucks and distributed in 10 Union Councils from 25^th July 2009 to 5^th August 2009.  

Importance of Nadi filter promotion for safe and clean drinking water:

Water is one of the basic needs of life but unfortunately this blessing is playing in the vicious hand of the human being who is polluting vertical & horizontal resources by plenty of way like, Intensive use of agro chemical, Industrial waste, improper drainage system, percolation of water etc. Keeping all this in mind AHD conducted number of studies with the communities in Sindh to provide healthy water at their door step. Different methods were practiced & at the end it was found that biological method is one of the best being simple, natural, chemical free & cast effective.

AHD with the mandate to provide healthy water at doorstep launch Nadi filter (Bio-Sand Filter) in Sindh area & carry this method all the way from Hyderabad to Swabi to contribute its share in the services of IDPs during this services 10 training of trainers were conducted in different areas (union council) of Swabi having  20 participant each.

Details of the trainings and participants list:

The 10 trainings on Nadi filter promotion conducted in 10 UCs through the local CBOs in between partnership with CHIP organization working in selected areas since last many years. The participants selected 20 in each CBO and called to attend the workshops in each CBO 50% IDPs participated and learn the safe and clean drinking water technology at their door step.

Participants taken Nadi filter units to their home through local transportation:

Nadi filter unit technology promotion workshops interested for all and every participant get full attention during trainings and demonstrate their active participation through taking part in Nadi filter making activities. It was observed that in Swabi 10 Union Councils all members selected for Nadi making learnt and installed Nadi filter units during workshop and taken Nadi and Mattaka and required material after each training to their homes.

Practically Nadi filter units installation by participants 

During trainings no. of Nadi filter units installed by the participants through the practical demonstration session and about 1-2 Nadi filter installed at each Union Council through the training sessions. The process was to demonstrate once and than participants asked to make their group wise Nadi filter units.

AHD staff strictly fallow the principle of teaching Nadi filter technology:

“We do not fix Nadi filter unit for communities but communities asked to make their own Nadi filter through their own hands” the phrase is simple but indicating to transfer the power of skills to other. Through this trainee/community members learn appropriately and able to teach others inside or outside the villages.

All participants following the 14 steps from the posters given to all during training and act on steps one by one for making Nadi filter.

Fallowing this principle the trainings was successful in all selected and more than 200 TOT trainees trained and now are bale to make their own filter at anywhere in village or outside village. In this regard they provided with Nets, Pipe and sand / stones size.
